Youth to Kearney on Car Theft
Dennis Spotted Elk, 17, was sentenced to the Kearney State Reformatory by Cheyenne County District Court Judge I. J. Nisley after pleading guilty to auto theft. The Indian youth admitted taking a car owned by Joe Gonzales of Sidney on Nov 12. the vehicle was found in Julesburg two days later where he was arrested. Also pending was Earl Kersting of Kearney arraigned for hit and run in Lodgepole last August, who pleaded not guilty. County Attorney Jack Knicely called it the last major case for the term. Mangus was acquitted on non-support.
