UP Reveals Time Change On 2 Trains
Union Pacific will slow two streamliner trains between Chicago and the West Coast starting January 9. The City of San Francisco adds 35 minutes westbound and 30 eastbound. City of Los Angeles adds 30 minutes Chi to LA and 15 minutes eastbound. Both depart West Coast terminals at 4:30 p.m. daily, still at 4:30 on return.

Funeral services are scheduled Wednesday afternoon for Barbara Hinrichs 14 of Sidney who died Friday morning in a Rochester Minnesota hospital. Services will be at 1 pm from Craig Mortuary and at 2 pm from Weyerts Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev Emil Reinking officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Sidney. Barbara was from a prominent Weyerts Sidney family and had a long heart ailment. She had recent treatment in Denver at Mercy Hospital and was advised to go to Rochester for heart surgery. Surviving are her parents and three brothers John Harold 16 Stephen 11 and David 8 and her maternal grandparents Harold and Mrs Craig Sidney.

Former SOD Worker Dies In North Platte
James W. Dimmitt age 71 formerly of Sidney died in North Platte last Tuesday after a period of ill health. He worked for many years at the SOD and moved to North Platte last year. Survivors include several brothers and sisters in Iowa.

Officer Helps Motorist Then Recovers Stolen Car
Nebraska patrolman Mel Busekist aided a motorist Saturday and recovered a stolen 1953 four door car. The driver, 15 year old Tom Morrison of Red Wing Minnesota Boys Training School, admitted taking the car Thursday night in Mankato Minnesota from Robert Hanson. Morrison would be returned to Red Wing. the car and a projector were recovered.
