Diversion Sign-Up for 1963 Wheat Program Slower in Cheyenne County
Cheyenne County farmers plan to sign up for the 1963 wheat stabilization program as the deadline at 5 p.m. Friday approaches. By noon today about 234 applications were filed with 160 pending at the ASC office, part of a total potential 1459. Eligible participants may receive special payments for diverting 20 to 50 percent of their wheat allotment to conservation uses and qualify for extra price support and loan or purchase agreements. Signers must divert only the amount they intend and may lose all benefits if the full amount is not diverted.

Mrs Sporing Dies in Hebron Home After Long Illness
Word arrives of the death on November 26 of Mrs. Her mine Sporting of Deshler. She died at a residence in Hebron where she had been a patient since 1960. Survivors include three brothers, among them Willam and Albert Krenbring of Sidney. Mrs Sporing had visited Sidney many times and was well known.

The Minuteman fast strike missile becomes combat ready with twenty missiles in Montana silos near Mallstrom AFB. By summer, 130 more are to enter launch holes in Montana and nearby states, with total force over 800 by 1965. Each 3.2 million dollar missile is solid fueled and can launch in under 15 seconds.

Defective Wiring Caused Monday Fire
Fire at the Don Kahl home 1315 Palomino Place caused about 3000 dollars damage. Investigation by Fire Chief Harvey Vizina found defective wiring to be the cause. Mr Kahl was hospitalized in Cheyenne. Mrs Kahl and their two children were uninjured.

Frederick Boisen Dies Suddenly at 72
Frederick V. Boisen, 72, died suddenly from a heart attack early Tuesday at home. Funeral services are set for Friday at 2 p.m. at Gehrig and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Carl L. Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. He was born September 20, 1890, in Minden, Neb. to John and Hannah Schroeder Boisen and married Lillie May Sorensen in 1915. The couple lived in Minden, then Broadwater, later moving to Sidney in 1955. Survivors include his wife Lillie, daughter LaVon Boisen of Washington, D. C., sisters Carey Boisen of Minden and Theresa Williams of Council Bluffs, and brother Hoger Boisen of Minden.
