Harriet Laura Withers aged 81 died Thursday at her daughter Mrs. Frank Hansen's home. Born September 20, 1855 at Mount Morris Illinois, she married Andrew Withers in 1872 and homesteaded near Lodge Pole, Nebraska, before moving to Lodge Pole in 1913. Survived by three sons Thomas, Oley, Logan. five daughters Edith Meyer, Hattie Allington, Myrtle Miller, Leola Griffith, Lou Hansen. 19 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral at Lodge Pole Methodist Church Saturday at 10 with Rev. G. M. Brox. interment Lodge Pole.

Police lack tangible clues in solving a trio of robberies across Cheyenne county last Saturday night. The Joe A Gibson garage in Sidney the Walford store in Dalton and the Sidney Parts and Bearing company reported over 150 dollars in cash and merchandise stolen. A car stolen at Bridgeport was recovered in Denver. At Bayard a Saturday evening safe was broken into with 15 dollars taken from the Lucas barber shop. A radio two guns and shop supplies were left behind. Safe crackers are active in northwest Nebraska and may be moving south, with one officer suggesting the gang could be based near Scottsbluff.

License Plates Go On Sale December 21 for 1937
County Treasurer Louis Wasem announced that automobile plates for 1937 will go on sale Monday morning December 21 at the county treasurer’s office. Owners must bring the certificate of ownership and the 1936 auto tax receipt to issue licenses. The 1936 tax must be paid first. The plates have a grey background with black letters, similar to Colorado’s design for next year.

About 19 000 bushels of seed corn have seen loan applications in two weeks from drought hit Midwest states under the emergency federal seed corn loan plan. Sowards Sentenced on Two Embezzlement Counts
Cecil V. Frederick E. Wagner 43 a Dalton area farmer died at Dalton hospital after a lengthy illness. Born February 9 1893 in Scribner he moved to the area in 1914 and later resided in Morrill county before returning to Dalton. He married Clara Obershelman in Bancroft in 1916 and they had three children one of whom died in infancy. Surviving are his widow two children and a large group of brothers and sisters.
