Gerard Johnson Folkerts a longtime Weyerts resident who homesteaded near Weyerts in Cheyenne county died at his son John F Folkerts home on December 6 1928 after years of illness. Born March 17 1852 in Sandhorst Germany he came to America in 1867 and settled near Golden Illinois. He married Lena Ricks in 1878 and later Hilka Bauer in 1902. He was 76 years old at his death leaving seven children and a long record as a farmer and community figure.

Crook Young Man Arrested in Wheat Theft Case
