The Irish breeze to a 37 to 10 victory over Wauneta on Wednesday night to balance their won and lost column. Wauneta was kept scoreless until the final two minutes as St Pats built a 9 to 0 start and led 19 to 3 at halftime.
Gurley High School basketball extended its winning streak by beating Peetz Colorado 31 to 17 and then edging Potter 32 to 30 in a thriller. Kallhoff and Schumacher sparked Gurley while Stines and Grothe led Potter with 11 and seven points respectively. Coach Lindell praised the Potter game as a top year contender and Gurley plans to travel to Dix tonight for another conference tilt.
Sidney Frosh defeated Potter 39-18 in a high scoring game Wednesday night. Stines led with 12 points while coach Ray Maley used all thirteen players, preparing for the Jan. 5 matchup against Peetz ninth and tenth graders.
The Dapper Dans, a colored basketball team, visit Sunday to face the Knights of Columbus quintet at City Auditorium at 2 30 PM. The Dans feature tall ball handlers and aim to beat KC, a strong home club with Tom Dineen guiding a lineup of former St Patrick's Academy stars after a successful previous season.
Lodgepole High School cagers raced to a 54 to 22 victory over Dix. Willard Kirk scored 17 points for Lodgepole and Gunderson added 11 for Dix. Lodgepole led at every stage, finishing strong with a 54 final. Score by quarters showed early surge and steady margin.
Sunol came from behind Monday night to defeat St Patrick's Academy in overtime, 48 to 43. Hadden scored 17 and Craig 15 to lead Sunol, while Grassle added 12 for St Pat's as Sunol closed a five point deficit in the final period and carried the momentum into overtime.

A regular meeting of the Cheyenne County Rural Youth Association took place Tuesday in the Legion rooms of the City Auditorium. A brief business meeting preceded a theatre party. The next meeting is set for Tuesday December 21 at the Frank Klentz home 465 14th Avenue with a 25 cent gift exchange.
