Cattlemen Push Research As Vital For Beef Industry
About 100 cattlemen gathered for the Cattleman Roundup where Myron Carlson of Lodgepole and University of Nebraska specialists urged scientific research in agriculture to meet rising food demand. Carlson cited beef industry needs, proposed new funding levels, and praised Nebraska livestock research and extensions. Grass tetany and cool season pastures were also discussed along with insect control and two year calving benefits.
