Readers learn of Chal Bentley and Buff Andrews at Rich Field in Waco Texas as 154 men in their service squadron prepare for France. The unit includes 18 aircraft 12 tow trucks 12 motorcycles 72 machine guns and 178 Colt automatics and features six captains and six lieutenants with a major’s Cadillac eight.
A large gathering of young people charivaried Mr Meik Brachtenbach and his bride at their Sidney home. Thanksgiving day relatives and intimate friends joined in a fine dinner in honor of the newlyweds who wed on November 10. Guests included Pete and Brachtenback families from Dix and Sidney, Nick Brachtenback and children from Peetz, and the Morfelds from Potter.
Miss Amanda Buck of Chicago married Meik Brachtenbach of Sidney on November 16 at the bride’s brother’s home in Chicago. The bride's friends recall her during a fall visit, while the groom is praised as a well regarded farmer from south of town. The newlyweds reside in a new home and receive many congratulatory wishes.
Frank G. Meiers of Lorenzo and Miss Iva Mae Boggs of Sidney were married at the home of Methodist pastor Reverend L Hi Lewis on December 5. After a brief eastern Nebraska honeymoon they will live on the groom’s farm near Lorenzo. He is described as a worthy man of good habits and the bride as one of Sidney’s capable young ladies, daughter of Mr and Mrs W H Boggs. Their acquaintance began at Fremont business college in 1911 and has grown to this happy culmination. The Telegraph offers warm congratulations.
Chester Ray Kendall of Hereford Colorado and Helen Veronica Grassaniee of Carpenter Wyoming wed here on December lat, united by County Judge Chambers, in a simple marriage ceremony.
John A. Wills of Brownville Nebraska and Carrie L Atherton of this city were married on December 5 by a special County Judge.
John F. Sump of Lisco and Alma Isabella Walker of Lodgepole were married on December 6 in a county judge ceremony. The note invites readers to watch for E. W. Smith's ad next week. Reverend J J Langston conducts protracted meetings at Lodge Pole with strong attendance. Mrs Fred Stuht and Mrs EB Stockwick visited Gering with R W Wright family. Elmer Grabill went to Denver after failing balloon school medical. Gurley village officials discussed water circulatory system with Contractor Jordan Thursday.
S Shaeffer returned Thursday from a trip to Ohio to see his son who had left just before his arrival for the California coast. The journey proved dissatisfying with the anticipated reunion not materializing.
Madams McCann Antrim Bryan Taylor Jones and McDonald spent Friday afternoon knotting a comfort for an invalid neighbor at Mrs J C Shulenberg's home. Judge Chambers and Mrs Chambers took their daughter Vera to Alliance Monday seeking medical consultation. x rays yielded clouded pictures and no diagnosis.
Fred Lehmkuhl Sr reports his son Fred Junior in the base hospital at San Antonio Texas is not in good condition. He has slight use of forearms while the rest of the body is helpless. Surgeons have little to say, so there is little to write. Friends hope for better news in the next communication.

Lieutenant William Ritchie was transferred Tuesday in Sidney en route to Ridgeport to settle affairs. He enlisted as a private and earned a promotion to first lieutenant after serving at Fort Snelling. He will be stationed at Fort Dodge, Des Moines, with a chance to join an early French contingent. Mrs. Ritchie sent her husband away with blessing and returned to Grand Island.

The Fuel Administration Committee for Cheyenne County lists active officer members including Chairman J. M. Swensor Vice-Chairman N. E Medlock Sidney Hans Anderson Dalton Frank X Rihn Gurley William M Goding Potter and Bert Bates Lodgepole. Their business is to conserve the coal supply in aid of the Federal government.
