Henry Clark of Bridgeport made a business trip to Sidney on Thursday. Dan McAleese sold his dwelling near the old settler quarters to Nels Edner. Gottlieb Kuenster sold land southwest of Sidney to Herman Springer. Mrs. Elizabeth Sager’s family notes Casper Girman of the A. L. Fast residence on West Second Street. Chas Callahan and wife returned from Kasle and the northwest. Co. L. Tate and wife drove from Lodgepole. Tate sold part of John Pavlot land to an eastern buyer. Paper shipment delays cause missed trains. Herman Springer leased the Kruse Brothers building near the Darnell & Moore shop to open a real estate office. Elizabeth Sager granddaughter Elizabeth’s funeral at the Methodist church. Col A. J. Haskell celebrated his 75th birthday. Franklyn Comedy Company entertained despite rain. possible extension next week. Mrs. Orville Harrington, daughter of Mittlesteadt, died in Fresno, Cal. Haskell Indians defeated Sidney ball team. tie with North Platte in thirteen innings. Two steam threshers arrive in Sidney for the harvest. Major vaudeville acts and new music at the opera house. Mrs. W. F. Bassett hosted a social afternoon with guests Berger and Minnie Joyce. flowers, refreshments, and music. An old Scotch anecdote concludes with the doctor pocketing a fee after noting the patient’s death.

Village Trustees Vacancy and Damages Settlement

A Friday night trustees meeting in Trustee Tucker's office with Chairman Dedrick McIntosh Tucker and Neubauer present. A $38.00 street work claim was paid to J B Cook. John Treinen settled a knee injury claim for $300 from a Rose Street cement crossing obstruction. M H Tobin appointed to fill a trustee vacancy. An ordinance and notice of a water works special election were ordered for August 30. The meeting adjourned.
