The first county primary held Tuesday saw 672 ballots with Republican 432, Democrat 282, socialist 6, prohibition 2. Hagerty wins county treasurer nod for Republicans. Rowan, Dawson, Waggy lead as others follow. Democrats nominate Wood, Green, Tucker, Daugherty, Leafdale. turnout light due to farming.

Obituary: Olof M Berling Dies at 65 in Cheyenne County
Olof M Berling died of stomach trouble at his home twelve miles northeast of Sidney on Friday August 30, 1907, aged 65. Born in Sweden he immigrated to America around age 25, lived in Illinois five years, then settled on a Cheyenne County homestead in 1888. Survived by widow and three children, including sons Olof and Elmer and daughters Mollburg, Ownings, and Gibson, with funeral at his home conducted by Rev. Jurgens and burial in Sidney village cemetery.

Union Pacific Dysone Company buys 39 day options on North Platte route
The Mitchell Index reports that Union Pacific Dysone Company is purchasing 39 day options on right of way along the North Platte Valley from North Port to Minatare. The line parallels the Burlington road and near Minatare a survey crosses the river to the south side then continues west by Gering through Mitchell Valley into Wyoming.

Western Nebraska real estate surges on rainfall boom
