Siftings of the Week note a strong grain yield across the county with many threshers at work and harvest promising good quality. The town recalls railway changes, a wreck near Colton injuring a fireman, and local residents traveling to Champaign and York.
The new game law effective April 5 establishes open seasons for prairie chickens sage chickens grouse quail wild waterfowl pigeons doves plovers and fish with dates from September through April plus daily and possession limits. Violations incur fines up to five dollars per unlawfully taken bird animal or fish and up to ten days in jail. No season for swan or white crane.
B W Frazey declares for county judge this week. He is described as genial and liberal minded, with daily life seen as contrary to socialist teachings. Friends note he is not aligned with socialist tenets.
A. D. Waggy, a North River ranchman, appears as the Republican candidate for Sheriff with no opposition. The notice appears in the announcements column this week.
The Alabama Colored Show headlines a darkey special with moving pictures songs and dances at Tobin Opera House tonight and Sunday night tickets 40 50 and 25 cents to attend.

Miss Ethel Long hosted a farewell gathering Friday before leaving for Sidney Draw with about fifteen friends expressing regret. The North Platte Tribune notes the five day State Pair attraction Sept 2 6 with events including harness races Derby and Air Ship performances. Three new dispatchers join the North Platte to Sidney rail movement, easing workload on other crews. Dorothy Hart hosts a lively party for about twenty five friends with a tallyho ride and festive setup at the Hart home.
The Bridgeport and Sidney contest drew mixed reviews with accusations of imports and a $50 hired pitcher. Sidney fielded only local players while Bridgeport brought in players from Guernsey and Alliance. Manager Rodman of Sidney praised for fairness, with a potential rematch ahead. Also notes on cinema, local sale of auto, and ice cream.
