Laramie Wyoming cowboy John W. Jones won the all round title as the Cheyenne County Rodeo concluded. He led in steer wrestling and placed second in both his specialty and wild cow milking. Dick Stull of Potter finished third in steer wrestling. The $6,000 purse powered top placers across saddie bronc, bull riding, bareback, calf roping, steer wrestling, and wild cow milking with John W. Jones earning multiple high scores and top finishes for recognition in the RCA listings.

Al Bauer to compete in NRA National High Power meet
CAMP PERRY OHIO Al Bauer of Sidney will join more than 7 000 shooters at the 1967 National High Power Rifle Championships during the National Matches at Camp Perry from August 26 to September 1. The event, co hosted by the U S Army NRA and the National Board for the Promotion of Rifle Practice, draws over 2 600 top shooters across 200 to 1000 yard ranges in Service and Bolt Rifle divisions. It also offers Small Arms Firing School and instructor programs led by Army Marksmanship Training Unit staff from Fort Benning. Ken Venturi, 1964 champ, barely qualified for a final 36 holes.

In Vandalia Ohio two shooters Bailey of Nebraska and Bradley of Ohio each hit 400 straight at the Champion of Champions event before weather halted play. Bailey and Bradley each shot 200 from 16 yards in regulation and 200 in a shootoff, with Dan Orlich of Reno earning third after a 149 of 150 birds in the shoot off.
