George Lamphear, a 36 year old Sidney man, is held in Lincoln County jail at North Platte, accused of shooting his wife with a 12 gauge shotgun in a ranch house attack. His 25 year old wife is in a North Platte hospital in critical condition after leg amputation and surgery. their two year old son was lightly hit by pellets. Lamphear confessed and is charged with shooting with intent to kill. the couple had been estranged and previously troubled, with Lamphear stealing a car and fleeing to a relative's ranch before the attack.

Trucks Damaged In Side Swiping On Brownson Road
A side swiping collision at 1 15 Friday afternoon on Brownson road four and a half miles north of Ordville damaged two trucks. The 1940 one and a half ton Chevrolet owned by R E Griffith and driven by Lloyd W Shanks of Bridgeport sustained about 300 dollars in damage, while the 1947 one and a half ton Chevrolet owned by Kenneth Mueller of Potter and driven by Wesley D Mueller sustained about 100 dollars in damage. Deputy Sheriff Arnold Braasch investigated.

Survived by his wife, nine children, four brothers Asa T. Couch, William Couch, Jim Couch, and Charles Couch, and one sister, Mrs Hassie Kokjohn. born Greenville Missouri, 187?. moved to Sidney in 1907, later Cassville Missouri, then Live Oak eight years ago.

Robert Johnson 19, Sioux Ordnance Depot driver, faces charges in Sterling district court for killing Waits Falk 56 and Bertha Falk in a crash near Atwood Colorado last Friday.
