The Sidney Public School System will use the Central Grade School on Linden Street between 16th and 17th Avenues starting the 1952-53 term. Superintendent Weymouth says the building eases crowding but won’t solve the growth strain, with a southern Sidney location likely the next elementary site.

Kimball County Oil Celebration Draws State Officials
Kimball county plans a celebration of its oil progress and the first production on state school land. The event on October 6 at State No. 1 well site near Dix will feature a royalty check to late Treasurer Frank Hinds and appearances by Gov. Val Peterson and other officials. A barbecue follows and sample oil bottles will be sent to every school in the state.

Rich Wright Takes Conoco Management at 12th and Illinois
Rich Wright has taken over the management of the Conoco station at 12th and Illinois Street and renamed it Wrights Conoco Station. He succeeds Wes Berry and Cliff Jensen who operated the station as B and J Conoco Service since last January. Berry will devote full time to the Zesie store on South Tenth Avenue and Jensen will return to farming. Wright, a Sidney High School graduate and former Maroon athlete, is married to Joan Draper with one child and recently returned to Sidney from Sterling Colorado where he worked in oil fields.

A new national bank with 200000 dollars paid in capital is set to open in Sidney sometime in October. It will be located at one of several proposed sites and will operate with 100000 dollars capital stock, 75000 dollars surplus, and 25000 dollars undivided profits all paid. Officers listed include Charles N. Deaver president Carl W. Christ vice president and Clarence Castner cashier. Fourteen Sidney stockholders are named. Castner leads bank management with 32 years of banking experience.

Infant Kripal Dies. Graveside Rites Held at Greenwood

City Steam to End June 1 After 30 Years of Service

School Land Income Up Sharply in Biennium
State Board of Educational Lands and Funds Secretary Henry Bartling said the board earned 7,385,858 for the biennium ending June 30, up from 2,250,750 in the prior period. The rise is mainly due to 4,312,879 from school land lease bonus sales.
