Lodgepole High hosts its first annual reunion for Lodgepole alumni on Friday August 29 at the high school. Supt L E Lydhart says many graduates including those living in California will attend. The event begins at 2 PM with a covered dish luncheon followed by a program directed by Willard Kreider Grant and an evening continuation after dinner. Alumni date back to 1918 with George Barley of Sidney among early members.

Sunol School Opens September 1 With New Kindergarten
Sunol Consolidated School will open Monday September 1 under Supt Kenneth Chambers. Pupils register and receive books in the morning, buses run at the usual time and return by noon. For the first time this year kindergarten is offered with Mass Margaret Emrich from Whairfield Nebraska as teacher. Teachers meet August 30 at 2 pm for a pre school session followed by a faculty picnic.

Tourist 11th Road Death in Cheyenne County
The 17 year old Indiana woman Mrs Roberta Elaine Peffley of Lafayette died in a head on collision on Highway 30 near Sidney Nebraska. A 1950 Chevrolet driven west and a 1936 Ford driven east collided causing severe damage. Police investigated and charges may be filed against driver George Sizemore. Mrs Peffley was en route to Oceanside California to join her marine husband Pvt Robert E Peffley. Funeral arrangements were in Lafayette Indiana.
