Safety Patrol Arrests Suspect Following Sidney Shooting

Roy Oak a 48 year old Sidney Junior High School science teacher is in critical condition at Memorial Hospital after a noon shooting on Route 30 east of Sidney. A hitchhiker 17 year old Jack Kirk of Chattanooga Tenn was arrested with a .38 caliber pistol while Oak drove to the hospital. Kirk claimed Oak picked him up near Sidney then headed for Indiana. Hospital blood appeal issued for AB negative or O negative donors.
