In Sidney Nebraska 1907 the Board of County Commissioners approved a one mill levy and fixed a new Eastwood precinct at McDermott's store. The 1907 assessed valuation was 2,332,177.61 with levies for general expenses, bridges, roads, state patients care, sinking fund, soldiers relief, and multiple school districts. A petition for Eastwood precinct was heard with Sept 9 as hearing date.

The dwelling of Commissioner JB Haiston of Davison precinct burned to the ground last Sunday night with most contents lost. The first floor fire started around ten after the family retired. Efforts saved some bedding and clothing. nearly everything else was destroyed.
