Belmont Irrigation District hearing and county levy set

In Sidney Nebraska 1907 the Board of County Commissioners approved a one mill levy and fixed a new Eastwood precinct at McDermott's store. The 1907 assessed valuation was 2,332,177.61 with levies for general expenses, bridges, roads, state patients care, sinking fund, soldiers relief, and multiple school districts. A petition for Eastwood precinct was heard with Sept 9 as hearing date.

Sidney Defeats Bridgeport in Tight Ballgame

State Rail Commission Seeks Cheaper Coal Rates

Instructions on Kinkaid Act improvements cited by General Land Office

The General Land Office issues guidance for final proof under the Kinkaid Act of April 28 1904. Improvements such as houses fences windmills trees count, and the original breaking can be considered improvements but only permanent improvements after breaking. Claimants must show at least 1.25 dollars per acre invested in permanent improvements through money or labor. Fire destroys the residence of Davison official Haiston

The dwelling of Commissioner JB Haiston of Davison precinct burned to the ground last Sunday night with most contents lost. The first floor fire started around ten after the family retired. Efforts saved some bedding and clothing. nearly everything else was destroyed. Haiston plans immediate rebuilding. insurance was not present on building or contents totaling about fifteen hundred dollars.
