Beef sale tops at 85 per pound for grand champion steer
At the 4-H beef sale at the fairgrounds on Saturday morning 225 head were sold. Grand Champion steer Katie McMillen crossbred weighed 1,220 pounds and sold for 85 cents a pound to Fix Pharmacy. Reserve Champion Hereford shown by Phil Hutchison weighed 1,150 pounds and sold for 65 cents a pound to Dinklage Feedyards. Additional top lots included Angus, crossbred, and weight gain champions with buyers such as First State Bank of Lodgepole Safeway and Baker Tire Service.
