Growers Disturbed By Ag Bill Pace In Ogallala Meeting

Missile Roads Improvements Are Under Way
Lincoln four to six weeks of grading and gravel surfacing on 12 Minuteman Missile Access roads in Banner County began Aug 3 and will continue into late November for 16 roads in Kimball County. Six more Cheyenne County roads will be gravelled starting in October. The 180 mile project, one of the state’s largest gravel maintenance efforts, uses 133000 cubic yards of gravel with a three inch surface expected to last five years. Missouri Valley Construction Co. of Grand Island won the $308,355 contract, with Gary Holly of Sidney as project engineer. The missile access system covers 394 miles with 37 miles of minor culverts included. no traffic rerouting is planned, but tailgating and excessive speeds may mar new gravel.
