Man and land challenge at Nebraska folklore workshop
The Pioneer and Plains Indian Folklore Workshop at Camp Norwesca near Chadron, funded by Chadron State College, drew 35 teachers and scholars. Dr Jim Hanson, CSC graduate and Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum director, led discussions on how land and people shape each other, noting enduring frontier myths and differing views between settlers and Indigenous communities. A Fort Robinson field trip capped the weeklong event.
