Former Sidney Girl Killed in Utah Crash
Mrs George B Lee of Maland Utah the former Elva Perry of Sidney was killed in an Ogden automobile crash Wednesday night. A friend also named Mrs George Lee died. Mrs Lees parents Mr and Mrs W J Perry traveled to Ogden with Mrs Lees sister Mrs Charles Turner and Mr Turner. The accident occurred about seven oclock. Surviving daughter Barbara Lee 3% and Mr Lee. Torrential rain washes out several bridges in Cheyenne county
Severe rainfall hit Cheyenne county on Wednesday evening with totals from three inches to 1.30 inches in Sidney. Six side-road bridges were washed out while No. 30 and No. 19 highways escaped major damage. County highway commissioner J. W. Billeter surveyed the scene and estimated total road and bridge damage under $2,000 as water from north hills inundated fields and covered the Lincoln highway five miles east of Sidney.

20 Per Cent Slump In Cattle Report States
There were 20 per cent fewer cattle on feed in Nebraska on August 1 this year than a year ago. The corn belt states show about a 21 per cent drop, the smallest in seven years. Produce Plant Opens In Sidney Saturday
The Omaha Cold Storage company opens its local produce plant on Saturday morning August 18 in the Louis Mann building on Hickory street. Extensive remodeling has been done and will continue until a full poultry cold storage unit is installed. Free ice cream and cold drinks will be offered to farmers visiting opening day. The plant plans to dress turkeys this fall and hopes to move 15 to 20 car loads. Manager Mr. Anstey says 40 or 50 people may be employed during peak season. Sidney was chosen after extensive study and could become western Nebraska's leading poultry market.
