Marathon Oil Company announces a gas discovery at Beaver Creek Alaska 12 miles northeast of Kenai in unit well No 1 A. Test flow max 11 710 MCF per day with 1 592 psi flowing pressure from Kenai sands 5 430 5 675 ft. Additional Haase zone tested at 8 794 8 976 ft with 13 000 MCF per day potential. No 1 A replaces a blown out Beaver Creek No 1 from Feb 10 1967. Drilling continues on Beaver Creek No 2 to test Hemlock sand. Traffic Safety Education Association of the National Education Association and ADTSEA receive grant from American Trucking Associations. CMSC selected for 1967 safety scholarship program.

Navy Officer Test Set For December Ninth 1967
Vice Admiral B J Semmes Jr announced the 22nd annual national competitive examination for the Regular NROTC will be held on December 9, 1967. The program funds tuition, fees, uniforms, and books at 52 civilian colleges with a 50 dollar monthly subsistence allowance for up to four years. Eligible high school seniors should apply by November 17, 1967, via counselors or Navy Recruiting Stations or the Chief of Naval Personnel in Washington D C.
