To Spray Or Not To Spray Mosquito Debate In Sidney

An entomologist from the Nebraska State Department of Health advised Sidney that city-wide spraying would likely be ineffective for mosquitoes after a wet summer. Officials say mosquitoes come from fringe fields and grasslands, with rainfall creating hatch ponds that have since dried. The council considered but did not approve any spraying plan.
