Oil Probe Extends From Sterling Into Nebraska
The General Geophysical Corporation has opened a temporary Sterling office and assigned seventeen men to locate oil traps across several counties near the Colorado line into Nebraska. W C Schmeeckle leads the effort under contract, continuing a multi year reconnaissance stalled by war. Seismography records sound waves to reveal subsurface structure, indicating oil possibilities rather than confirming deposits, with eastern Colorado geology likely guided by such geophysical work.
