Assault Case Heard Tuesday
John Atkins was found guilty in Cheyenne County Court Tuesday of resisting an officer and fined $18.50. The assaulting an officer charge was moved to district court and bond set at $500. Atkins is charged with assaulting Sidney Police Department officer John Bauer Jr during a Sunday night incident and waived preliminary hearing on that charge.

Labor Demand Down In Four Nebraskan Counties
In four county area Banner Cheyenne Deuel and Kimball labor offices placed sixty people in non agricultural jobs during July 1970, about the 1969 level, with half of placements aged 22 or younger. Agricultural demand fell about fifty percent from the prior year to fifty two workers, due largely to acreage cuts, larger equipment and many custom operators.
