A goodwill caravan from Sterling Colorado will visit Lodgepole Sidney and Chappell Thursday afternoon to publicize the Logan County Fair and the Sterling Diamond Jubilee starting Monday Aug 17. The caravan includes Rodeo Queen candidates and an old west entertainment group with a 350 member Logan County cast planned for the historical pageant Where the Buffalo Roamed on Aug 19 and 20.

One Dalton youth and three Sidney boys will represent Cheyenne County in the State Fair 4-H crops judging contest after the county event. Property Stolen From Farm House Near Potter
Deputy Brumbaugh investigated a Tuesday theft at a farm house north of the Wendel Mathewson farm south of Potter. Furniture valued at about $100 was taken after a door was kicked in. Vandalism also reported at the old house around 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The Senate and House Public Works Appropriations Committee approved 277000 for Nebraska’s portion of a Pine Bluffs Wyoming to Sidney power line. The Nebraska Board of Education sold gas and oil leases on 1117 acres in Cheyenne County for 5216, with top price 6.25 per acre for 640 acres to Shell Oil Co of Denver. Purchasers included Jack R.
