Cyclist Hurt In Friday Sidney Intersection Crash
Alanson Welton 16 of Lincoln sustained a broken leg and severe injuries after a 2 40 p m Friday crash at the 13th and Illinois intersection. The 1951 Airman motorcycle collided with a 1946 Chevrolet two door driven by Mrs Joan Weymouth, both failing to see each other in time. Welton was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He is visiting grandparents Mr and Mrs Charles Welton in Sidney.

Truck Driver Killed Near Gurley On Highway 19
Clarence F. Leiker 28 was killed when his one ton truck lost control on Highway 19 south of Gurley and rolled over. He was thrown clear and died from a broken neck and skull fracture. Leiker, from Hays Kansas, had been harvesting in Cheyenne County and worked at the Borges farm near Dalton. The Panhandle toll for deadly crashes to 21 this year, with Cheyenne County totals rising sharply from 1935.
