Pheasants Released Boost Cheyenne County Population
More than 170 day old pheasants were released near Dalton as part of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission restocking program. Ray Henke’s Northside 4H Club raised them with state chicks supplied about seven weeks earlier. Conservation officers released birds from the Leon Gillespie home to north central Cheyenne County to offset losses from a late March blizzard. Birds were banded to track migration and survival. sightings should be reported to the Alliance district office.
