Nebraska Wheat Plan Restricts Abandoned Land Use
Nebraska wheat growers with acreage removed from wheat may not plant or sell crops on the ground. The plan limits 1934 1935 contracted acres to fallow soil-improvement crops or home food crops on the farm while prohibiting sale aimed at nationally produced products. Nebraska officials propose pasture lockups and temporary grazing on sudan grass rye or sweet clover to absorb reductions, with two locked up acres per one acre used for temporary pasture.
