Weyerts Resident Nora Lippstrew 56 Dead at Home
Nora Lippstrew a Weyerts resident for 38 years was found dead at her farm home apparently from a heart attack believed to have occurred Tuesday night. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from Gehrig and Son Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. She was born May 28, 1903 in Kansas and married Frank Lippstrew in 1921. Survivors include a son Dale and daughter Vera Cobb seven grandchildren three brothers and five sisters.

Two power outages hit Sidney Thursday due to an overspeed governor on the city plant engine. The first interruption occurred about 11:35 am, the second at 8:37 pm with partial restoration after 2:45 minutes, almost plunging the city into darkness. The hospital remained largely unaffected as a diesel reserve kicked in when needed.

Escapee 16 Is Caught East of Potter
Charles Schumack a 16 year old escapee from Nebraska Boys Training School at Kearney was arrested Thursday morning by Troopers Bob Zapp of Sidney and Roy Anderson of Kimball about six miles east of Potter on Highway 30. He left the training school hospital at about 10 pm Wednesday after removing a window screen and stealing clothing from a parked car to wear while fleeing. He was returned to the sheriff's office for custody shortly before noon today.
