Banner well near Harrisburg shows promising oil potential
In Banner County the H A Downer No 2 well near Harrisburg shows a good saturated sand yield at 5936 feet. Stanolind plans to perforate tests within a week, with pumps to be erected and early operation aimed. The Rogers Drilling Co of Scottsbluff drilled it, with Kerr McGee and Philips contributing interest. Early core tests in D sands lacked oil, but muddy sands show strong promise for a top producer.

Kimball County Oil News Shows Mostly Dry Wells
Local oil reports from Kimball County indicate a discouraging week with multiple wells failing to find commercial oil. Notable attempts include Shell’s Painter No 1, Pritchard’s state lease discovery, Mae V. Torgeson J-A, and others in D and J sands showing water or dry results. Some prospects, like Huber Oil Ella Long No 2 in Weld County, yielded better potential with a 300 feet oil stem test and 1,200 feet water.
