Dalton Clothing Company sponsors the prize with ribbons for Grand Champion and Reserve Champion stallions and mares of all ages and breeds. Greyhound Starts No Change Schedule from Chicago to San Francisco

30 Minute Plea Asked For Slayer
The Supreme Court received a communication requesting a 30 minute plea for Hugh Griffith to speak at a rehearing. Griffith was sentenced to death by a Cheyenne County jury for the shotgun killing of his wife Anna at Sidney on June 20 1952. Nebraska Leads In Road Safety in 1953 First Half
Nebraska led the nation in traffic safety in the first half of 1953 with a 26 percent cut in deaths from January through June, the National Safety Council reported. Four Hurt In Sunday Crash
Four people were injured in a Sunday morning collision on Highway 30 one mile east of Sidney. The seriously hurt include Mary Christiansen and Lillian Jelinek with multiple fractures and head injuries. Albert Jelinek suffered a fractured knee. Henry Johnston had a bruised shoulder. The crash involved a 1947 Plymouth sedan and a 1951 Dodge pickup owned by W D Powell Co. Johnston reportedly blacked out, sending the pickup into the Jelinek car. Damages totaled about 700 dollars to the Plymouth and 800 to the pickup.
