Roosevelt Club Formed by Sidney Republicans

A large Sidney gathering at the courthouse organized a Roosevelt Club with D. W. Davison as chair and J. J. McIntosh as secretary. A. K. Greenlee was named president with an executive committee and plans for monthly meetings and campaign speakers.

Nebraska Voters to Decide on Constitutional Convention

Pioneer Cramer of Court House Rock dies at 77

Mahlon Cramer a longtime Cheyenne county resident and Blacksmith turned farmer died at his Simla home on Friday July 29 1904 at age 77 after a paralytic stroke. He was born in Bucks county Pennsylvania and moved west settling in Cheyenne county in 1889. He married Elizabeth Evans in 1854 and they had twelve children nine living. Funeral held at home with Rev. Hageman, burial in Sidney city cemetery.

Government Irrigation Plan Promises Nebraska Land Reclamation

F H Newell head of the government geological survey spoke in Omaha on a sweeping irrigation program. He cited a 16 million dollar federal fund, a Pathfinder reservoir in Wyoming, and a plan to reclaim about 100000 acres in Nebraska for actual homesteaders at 40 to 140 acres per buyer.

Skates Couple Journeys by Auto from San Francisco to Portland

G Skates and his wife traveled by car from San Francisco on July 20 toward Portland Maine stopping at Sidney en route. They cover 100 to 150 miles daily, faced snow, river fords, and breakdowns yet remained cheerful amid dusty roads.
