Republicans Re Nominate Giffin for State Senator
Republican voters in the 30th Senatorial district met in Sidney and unanimously nominated Hon. W D Giffin of Gothenburg to succeed himself as State Senator. The convention adopted resolutions endorsing Roosevelt era policies and Governor Mickey administration, and elected a senatorial committee with Wm Ingalls as chairman of Bann er county and delegates from Dawson Deuel Grant Kieth Kimball Lincoln Logan McPerson Perkins Scotta Bluff Hooker.

Death of Sarah Margaret Moore longtime Sidney resident
The Telegraph records the death of Sarah Margaret Moore born December 25 1858 in Pleasantville Pennsylvania she died near Sidney Nebraska on August 10 1904. She moved to Sidney in 1877 with husband Wa F Moore then lived on a ranch north of Sidney. A Quaker family background and patriotic siblings marked her life she made an American flag for her husband and helped establish the Lutheran church in Sidney. Known for kindness to the sick she brightened others with flowers fruit and delicacies. Funeral services were at the Lutheran church in Sidney on August 12 conducted by Rev Leamer with burial in the Village cemetery.

Reuben Freeman Dies in Sidney After Illness
Reuben Freeman, who came to Cheyenne County with his father last May to visit his brother Thomas near Dalton, died Thursday afternoon in Sidney from paralysis. Born in Champaign County, Illinois in 1859, he spent most of his life there. His health declined about six years ago, with a mild paralysis that worsened into complications. His father and brother Thomas took the body to Ogden, Illinois for burial.

The Democratic county convention met in Sidney last Saturday with several precincts unrepresented. R P Scott read the call and Frank Rilen was named chairman with C P Chambers as secretary. Delegates were chosen for State, Congressional and other conventions, with Thomas G Burke nominated for county commissioner from the third district. The county central committee was formed with Joseph Oberfelder elected chairman and H G Miller secretary. Burke, a Camp Clark resident rancher, was described as prosperous and popular.
