Rattle Snakes Seen In Town After Floods
After July 27 floods along Lodgepole Creek two rattlesnakes were reported in town. A girl on horseback was bitten on the leg by a rattler near the creek bank and another was killed by residents in a hedge. Residents in the south town near the creek note the sightings and speculate floodwaters drove snakes into town.

Truck Fire Causes Heavy Damage Near Sidney
About 6pm Tuesday firemen were dispatched 12 miles northwest of Sidney to extinguish a fire in a truck used for pushing straw. The straw ignited, destroying the truck and causing about $6,000 damage. The property owner's name was unavailable at Telegraph presstime.
