Special Bargains present iron beds reduced from eight dollars to five dollars. The ad promises five bed styles and features a steel range priced at twenty five dollars with six holes high closet and reservoir. It also notes weekly sales of a top buggy and highlights harness and saddles with surprising prices and quality.
A reporter extols a harvest that proves crops yield ten to fifteen dollars per cultivated acre. He visits multiple farms near Potter and beyond, noting 150 acre oat and rye fields, manure practices, and aging farmers still farming hard. He urges unity and continued effort to capitalize on abundant yields.
Section Foreman Kelly, filling a gasoline tank at the pump house, spilled vapors that ignited after he started the engine. Flames swept from the engine room, burning Kelly and a nearby gasoline tank fire spread to the windmill tower. Fire crews contained the blaze. Kelly suffered burns but is not believed to be fatally injured. Sheriff Lee also sustained burns.
Gentry Brothers famed exhibition returns for a 16th season in Sidney on Monday August 28. The show features about 350 animal acts including dogs ponies monkeys camels and five baby elephants. Special features include five juggling Normans Indian Club Swingers jugglers acrobats and the Yoshamite Japanese Troupe eight hip and head balancers. A grand free street parade will precede the show at 11 a.m. Tents are waterproof with seating for about 4 000.
Invitations were issued Wednesday for the wedding of Miss Mary Grace Struthers daughter of Mr and Mrs A H Struthers formerly of Sidney now of Douglas Arizona and Arthur W Flickinger of Douglas. The Telegraph joins Sidney friends in wishing them joy and little sorrow.
Commander Skinner issues the August 14 15 reunion program inviting all veterans settlers families and friends to attend. Highlights include Sherwin's Wild Wear exhibition and contests such as base ball races horse races and a ragmuffin parade with events planned on both days.
The Sidney Nebraska county board met July 1900 and August 1905 approving grants including 5.07 to Fred Wacker and many road and bridge expenditures. Harm Weyerts and Eric Lif appointed road overseers. a petition for a new road was rejected. numerous labor and bridge payments were approved. the board adjourned to August 1905.
Wm. P. Miles has let the contract and work is begun on a modern cement-brick structure north of the post office. The one and a half story building with basement will house a new law office for Miles and a barber shop by Darnell and Moore, with E. J. Sweet as contractor.
Attorney General Brown affirms that county commissioners must be elected in the upcoming election. Candidates seeking to replace Commissioner Rilea are urged to declare early to avoid a rush and prevent misunderstanding about the election timing.
Miss Harriett Radcliffe presided at seven o clock dinner Thursday for a group of young ladies in honor of Miss Rita Clarke of Omaha. Guests included Misses Rodeene Britton Irene McLernon Ethyl Sager Clarabelle Qber elder Anna Stubt Rushia Hart Lori Kathryn Sharmer Majorie Lori Fuller.
