Susan Elser Irwin 83 died Friday in Grand Island after two weeks in hospital. Funeral services were held today in Grand Island with final rites Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Lodgepole Methodist Church. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Survivors include three sons Samuel F. and Robert of Sidney and Fred of Grand Island, four daughters, 17 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a brother, and four sisters.

Air Force Captain James Wamsley who led the USAF hospital at Alconbury England has been chosen for a aviation medicine residency. He reports August 24 at Harvard University Boston for a year of training. He is among 12 or 14 flight surgeons selected for a five year program across the United States and abroad. Mrs Wamsley is Pamela Kinne daughter of Walter and Mrs Kinne, and Dr Wamsley is a Sidney native son of Lawrence and Mrs Wamsley.

Frontier County crews hunting for game bird nests killed a 36 inch prairie rattlesnake near the Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station. The snake measured five rattles, reflecting near the species maximum in the state.
