Specialists from Lincoln and Fort Collins plus REA reps inspected the third year of grain drying experiments at the Ed Block farm near Sunol. The system uses a large blower attached to a grain bin to circulate air and speed drying, reducing harvest time and protecting against hail and wind. One bin of 920 bushels dropped from 20.57 to about 10.5–11.1 percent moisture after 169 percent hours, costing about 1.2 cents per bushel. Public observers were invited to view the operation at Block farm.
