Senate Amends Kinkaid Homestead Bill in Conference
The measure offering 640 acres for four homesteads passed the House but was amended by the Senate. With the House not concurring, the bill goes to a conference committee as officials expect a flood of filings once law takes effect. The bill limits entry to 640 acres per person and excludes irrigable land from entry, while permitting added parcels for existing homesteaders under certain conditions.
