Rock a Thon for MS at Junior High Gym
The Senior High Student Council will sponsor a 24 hour rock a thon at the Junior High Gym starting May 6 at 5 p.m. to raise funds for Multiple Sclerosis. About a hundred volunteers have signed up. Participants bring their own rocking chairs and floor coverings and receive breaks every two hours. Food, drinks, contests, games, a stereo, TV and full length movies will be provided. Movies include House of Wax and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. Prizes donated by local businesses will be awarded at the end, plus a grand prize. Spectators are welcome.

The senior class officers are Katy Garber president Alys Lafler vice president Dawnne Clift secretary and Sally Borcher treasurer The junior class officers are Paula Schinzel president Rod Rehmer vice president Doran Matzke secretary and Christi Wiedeburg treasurer The sophomore class officers are Pam Swanstrom president Karen Dinkle vice president Libis Young secretary and Melanie Born treasurer Student Council representatives are named for each class and petitions required two faculty signatures and twenty student signatures.

The 1976 77 cheerleaders presented flowers and hosted a party for peers. Sidney High students competed at the Chadron district music contest with bands and choruses earning superior ratings across multiple ensembles and solos.
