Former Sidneyite Held In Omaha In Bar Robbery
A former Sidney man, William Glenn Slankard, 42, now of North Platte, is held by Omaha authorities for the Thursday bar robbery at the C and H Bar. He entered the 3618 North Thirtieth Street tavern, demanded change for a quarter, and fled with about $60 and a wrist watch after Mrs. Hildegard Richardson screamed. Police recovered the loot from Slankard’s pockets. he was captured near the bar when his pistol slipped. Sheriff W. W. Schulz noted Slankard had prior charges and prison terms, including Canon City and Nebraska State Penitentiaries.
