Born May 1, 1865 in Forsythe Illinois, he lived in Forsythe, then moved to Nebraska near Clay Center, later Lodgepole. He married Annie Gepford in 1884. they had ten children, two died in infancy. He remarried June Weber Reynolds of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. two more children were born. The family later lived in California before returning to Lodgepole to run a grocery, spending his final years with his children.
