Imperial motel chain expands coast to coast
Imperial motels, ranging from 35 to 80 units, follow a standard design and do not include restaurants or lounges but offer swimming pools. Organized in 1960 after a $150,000 research program, the chain aimed to solve motel problems rather than repeat others' mistakes. Mr and Mrs Munderloh plan frequent visits to Sidney for months and will spend six days weekly on ownership management duties. Imperial is now America's fourth largest motel lodge chain with operations and construction nationwide.

Electronic Machines Shape Future of Dirt Free Farming
Panhandle Farm Equipment and Progress Day heard R. W. Engle of Allis-Chalmers forecast tractors steered by automatic controls akin to airline autopilots. He said future machines will use more Versapower, integrate tools with tractors, reduce trips, and boost soil and crop efficiency. Experts noted population-driven food demand and a 1970 world food gap of 2.5 billion dollars. Deputy others emphasized a white shirt and tie workforce, and Saskatchewan and Nebraska officials discussed drought and shared problems. A second show was set for April 20 with potential date changes after planning meetings.
