Agriculture department economists say farm wages, already at record highs, will stay elevated through most of 1947 with a taper later in the year. Farms will cut costs by boosting output per worker via labor saving devices and higher yields. War years showed rising efficiency and output per worker, and the trend continues despite high wages and record net incomes for many farmers. One fifth of farmers employ ninety percent of labor. half hire no labor. About one in four farm workers is also a farm operator or family member working on other farms.

Two Cars Damaged In Potter Collision
State Patrolman Robert Nichols reported a two car collision at the Potter entrance from Highway No 30 last Saturday. L. J. Wheeler of Potter pulled into the path of Frances Beghtel a sailor stationed at San Francisco. Wheeler waited for an eastbound car and did not see Beghtel's machine approaching from the west. Damage was estimated at 300 dollars to Wheeler's car and 200 dollars to Beghtel's.
