An Artificial Ice Plant in Sidney

John F. Mohlman and A S Hardy begin erecting a one story concrete building north of Brewer's Garage and plan to open as The Sidney Ice and Cold Storage Company by June. The plant will make five tons of artificial ice daily with cold storage benefits for local merchants, creating jobs and advancing Greater Sidney.

Union Pacific awards a contract to construct seventy five miles of double track from Julesburg to Pine Bluff as part of Harriman era improvements. work begins promptly with steel ties rails and spiking underway all along the line while track laying machinery is not used at present. another segment from O Fallon to Julesburg is under way and North Platte to Gering extension has started with large forces deployed. completion expected late summer with track laying to start next spring.
