Sidney residents travel and visits noted in week

Len Sherwin circulated among Sidney friends on Thursday. Miss Morrison visited schools in and around Dalton on Monday and Tuesday. W. E. Hinman and Mr. Sutton were in Denver on laundry business Tuesday. Miss Katherine Sharmer and sister Mrs. Van Slyke left for Denver on Saturday. residence not yet determined. Friends will miss them.

Liebhart Starts Long Northwest and California Trip

C F Liebhart left Monday morning by train on the Burlington for an extended tour through the northwest and California. He will visit Alberta country Spokane Tacoma Seattle Portland and return via Los Angeles to Ogden with a side trip to Poctallo Idaho.

Ranchman narrowly escapes death in field accident

M. M. Herbert, a prominent South divide ranchman, had a serious injury after his horse tangled in the harness and dragged him under a harrow. He was struck on the head and remains in serious condition.

Gypsies Camped Here Asked to Leave Sidney

Gypsies encamped last week drank large amounts of Sidney whiskey and disturbed residents. They were requested to leave town, bringing relief to children who feared being on the streets during their stay.

Sidney Steam Laundry Delayed Till Late April

The Sidney Steam Laundry did not open last Monday as expected due to missing machinery in the shipment. Manager Huff now estimates they will not be ready for business until about April 24.

Sidney Plans New Catholic Church and School

A new Catholic Church is planned for Sidney with part of the funding already raised. The old church will be converted into a school once the new building is finished.

Street-cleaning brigade cleans town for Easter

A transient group of eight to ten staying with Sheriff McDaniel worked the first of the week to remove refuse and garbage from streets in preparation for Easter.

Ward plans six room bungalow on corner lot east of school

Dr. F. E. Ward outlines plans for a six room bungalow on his corner lot east of the school house and expects to start building in the summer. He is grading for cement walks around the property. The eastern adjoining lot has been sold to B. W. Frazey who also considers a new cottage construction.

Five saloon license applications before board of trustees

Ferdinand Schulz of Fremont Nebraska has leased the south room in the Oberfelder building for his saloon. The board faces five total applications for saloon licenses as brands from toy producers are expected to be represented in the city in the coming year.

Cheyenne County Court House Plan Revealed for Sidney

An architectural drawing shows the future Cheyenne County Court House in Sidney Nebraska. The three story stone building will be 60 by 84 feet with a large Doric portico, fireproof interiors, vaults beneath offices, and a modern heating and ventilation system. Construction follows a March 21 1911 bond election of 50000 dollars, with plans due May 1 and work starting by July 1.

Village Trustees Meet Approve Bills and Adjourn

The Board of Village Trustees met in regular session with chairman E W Ziebert and members R E L Jackson W F Buesett present. Bills were read audited and allowed including Sidney Telegraph printing election notices and bonds. The marshal was to notify Oberfelder & Co Sidney Lumber Co and Nebraska Telephone Co to remove properties and poles on 3rd street before adjournment.

Robbery at T B Dawsons Store Nets Candy Losses

A Monday night break in at T B Dawsons Store from the rear netted between 30 and 35 dollars worth of candy gum pencils and other small items. This is the second robbery this season with a larger total taken and police hope offenders are found.
