They depart for Chappell at 1 30 arriving 2 05 leaving 2 25. The Sowers distribute thousands of suckers emery boards and books of matches during trips across Nebraska and surrounding states.

Vandals Batter Parked Trucks at Faire Grounds
Early Sunday morning unknown vandals used beer bottles to batter four trucks parked near the grandstand at the Faire grounds. Sheriff Schulz estimated nearly 200 dollars in damage to vehicles owned by Earl Martin, A and A Construction Co, and Gibson Ford. A watchman on duty until 2 a.m. confirms the time of the attack.

One-Day Spree Ends For Cheyenne County Felon
Harry Buckles, a 38 year old man released from the Nebraska Penal Complex, ran through David City streets after a break in at Skogmo's Department Store. An armed pursuit ensued with shots fired at officers including Police Chief James Newcome and Deputy Sheriff Leonard Shipley. Buckles disarmed the chief, but the shotgun jammed as officers closed in. the chase ended with an abandoned car, leading to continued pursuit.

Buckles Involved In Escape Attempt While Held
Harry Buckles, released from the State Penal Complex last Thursday, was back in custody Friday. Convicted in January 1963 in Cheyenne County for burglary and auto theft, he admitted to a Lodgepole grocery store break in and two car thefts near Gurley. While jailed, he and three Federal prisoners attempted a breakout thwarted by Deputy Sheriff Gene Morris with a sawed off shotgun. Buckles also was linked to a burglary in Ashland.

A California woman harasses Sheriff W. W. Schulz after her husband is jailed for speeding a 1955 DeSoto at 95 mph. Fines and costs totaled $55 and he chose to sit it out. The wife allegedly called the sheriff three times in one day to vent her anger, including a 2:30 a.m. ring at the Schulz home.

Collision On Potter Street Causes Minor Property Damage
A Potter Street intersection collision at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Oak and Lincoln involved a northbound 1964 Pontiac driven by Tammy S. Shoemaker, 16, of Dalton, and a westbound 1957 Mercury driven by Evelyn M. Claar, Potter. Total damage estimated at $195 with $110 to Shoemaker’s car and $85 to Claar’s. Trooper John Trenerry of the Highway Safety Patrol reported no injuries.

Car Demolished On Dalton Track
A 1955 Ford driven by Henry Rathman 20 of Dalton was demolished in a one car accident on Burlington railroad tracks at the west edge of Dalton around 10 oclock Thursday night. Rathman suffered a badly fractured nose and was treated at Pioneer Memorial Hospital. Passengers Edwin Schmidt 21 and Gordon Carley 19 both of Dalton were uninjured.
