County Women’s Clubs Plan Fine Program at Methodist Church
The county wide achievement day program for the Making the Home Attractive clubs will be held at the Methodist church Wednesday. A basket dinner will be served. Mrs Emil Bluhm of Sunol and County Agent Willey organized the program for 1:30 PM with songs, readings, and plays featuring the Well Worth While North Sidney and Sunol groups among others.

Stop Signs to Be Erected on State and Federal Highways
County plans stop signs at all intersections of state and federal highways outside city limits on Wednesday and Thursday. The law requires vehicles to stop 50 feet from rail crossings and slow to 12 mph at others, with signage funded by the railroad company. Oliver Field Day Draws Big Crowd in Sidney Area
Oliver field day near Sidney showcased new Oliver farm implements on Ralph Harlan’s farm seven miles southwest. Demonstrations of a 32 foot wide disc harrow, a deep furrow drill, a fallovator, a gang plow, and power via 20 35 Allis Chalmers and Holt/Lawson tractors drew over 300 farmers. Cheyenne County fair board pursues big plans for 1928 fair despite a $1500 shortage. A hog exhibition building 22 by 96 feet will be erected at about $500 with stucco finish. A building committee led by Welton Nelson and Dimery, with County Agent Willey, oversees improvements and premium-list revisions as county funds of $3000 are allocated to keep projects on track for September 11 to 14, 1928.

Jacob Zimmerman Dies at Home Near Sidney
Jacob Zimmerman prominent farmer 16 miles southwest of Sidney died at his home Monday after a month long illness with stomach trouble. He was about 62, leaving a wife and eight children. A niece, Mrs George Deaver of nine miles southeast of Sidney, is named. Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time.

Sidney Grain and Stock Judging Teams Triumph at Mitchell
Thirteen vocational agriculture boys and instructor J W Nielsen traveled to the Nebraska experimental substation between Mitchell and Scottsbluff for the western Nebraska preliminary Smith Hughes judging contests. Sidney won first team honors in livestock and grain judging and claimed four top individual scores among 19 grain and potato entries. Additional top livestock individual honors placed second, third, and sixth among 35 entries. The stock judging group lacked formal livestock classes this year, training by extra sessions and using Olson & Sons stock farm near Sidney for practice. The class also worked with other area herds.
