Tracksters travel to Gothenburg relays for team event
The Raider boys track team will travel to Gothenburg today for the Gothenburg Relays. Coach Dick Osterday says relays stress team effort in a sport that usually rewards individuals. Kieselhorst Lurber Challburg and the 2 mile relay squad led strong showings at Kimball and Sidney meets, with Narjes Wolvin Stroh and Wiles also placing in events.

Senior females win Battle of the Sexes volleyball title
The senior girls defeated the senior boys in a close volleyball championship sponsored by the SHS student council on April 4 and 5. Team rosters include Debbie Rowe and Lori Hewitt among others with coaches Claire Higuchi and Steve Decker guiding. The final match swung 15-7, 12-16, 15-13 in favor of the girls.

Kathy Schrock set a school record in the 220 and a 100 final, Pam Selzer broke the shot put record with 35 feet, and Pam Wamsley joined high jump podiums. The team scored 14 points at Kimball in seventh of eight, then 42 points at Sidney in fifth. Tammy Fish placed top three in multiple events. Coach Garrett praised the squad's progress ahead of the Alliance Invite.

Golf Invite Season Opens With McCook Invite Start
The boys golf season began March 25 with an Invitational at McCook. Two more invitationals followed at North Platte and Kimball. The Sidney Invitational occurred last Wednesday and the Gering Invitational is today in Gering. The schedule continues with events at Valentine, Scottsbluff, Chadron, Alliance, Morrill, Cheyenne, and district and state tournaments planned through May.
