CAP Search Mission Fails To Find Downed Airplane
The Civil Air Patrol conducted a full scale simulated search from Sidney Municipal Airport for a missing plane from Rawlins Wyoming. Major Francis Casey praised the mission as well organized while noting the objective is to train search groups and maintain readiness. Seventeen planes and 127 CAP members plus local rescue, fire, and National Guard units participated. Despite grid search and overflights, the wreckage was not located during the long day.
